My Julia Roberts dressed in the Valentino's gown she wore for the Oscar 2000 ceremony, from a Solid Gold Charice doll (MiKelman trademark), remolded and repainted
Oscar Statuette handmade by Juan Albuerne
ABOUT THE DRESS
The world watched in awe as a stunning Julia Roberts walked forward to receive her Oscar this year for her outstanding portrayal of Erin Brockovich, an attorney's assistant who brought a small town to its feet and a huge corporation to its knees..
Now, renowned Spaniard artist Juan Albuerne recaptures that breathless moment with his Julia Roberts portrait doll wearing her vintage gown from the Haute Couture collection of Italian designer Valentino. Julia is a repainted Charice doll (MiKelman trademark), that features the resculpting talent which gives Juan's creations their remarkable lifelike quality.
The black velvet gown, reproduced in scale by Karen Collins, is trimmed in white satin ribbon with a train and deep v-inset of black chiffon. Over a hundred fittings ensured the proper fit and drape of the gown, which was adapted from a Vogue original pattern.
